Q: How can I receive additional information on your communities?
A: To receive more information on out neighborhoods, please contact us or the Realtor of the neighborhood you are interested in. You may also fill out our contact us form on our website; we or the agent will contact you directly. Be sure to include the neighborhood you are interested in, as well as your contact information.
Q: What is Stephen Black Builders Inc. process for getting into a new home or addition?
A: One of our representatives will meet with you, and make a selection on a building lot. We will establish a price range you want to be in and what style home you are interested in.
Q: What will be discussed when I meet with a Stephen Black Builders Inc. representative?
A: When we first meet, we discuss design and all the items you may want in your new home or addition. After the meeting, we will make up a quote for your review and meet with you again. At that time, we can modify options and design to meet your budget.
Q: How can we make this process one stop shopping?
A: We have local mortgage companies that will work with you on getting your mortgage approved in a timely manner. We will work closely with the title company so you are kept up to date on closing items. We can work with your selection of mortgage and title companies if needed. We arrange all companies to make settlement work.
Q: What kind of selections will I be able to make for my new home or addition?
A: After approving contracts and plans, you meet with our decorator and other personnel to choose your interior and exterior selections. You select colors, finishes, lighting, flooring, and fixtures to name a few.
Q: What if I have questions during the construction of my home or addition?
A: You my contact us at anytime. We are in the office weekdays at 6:00 AM. A project manager is assigned to oversee your new home or addition during construction, and we will meet you at the job site to review work being performed
Q: Will I be able to access my new home during construction?
A: Yes, you can. Scheduled meetings are as follows: You meet with the electrician and project manager to do an electric walk thru. At this time you choose where outlets, phone jacks and cable TV are located. Then you and the project manager have a final walk thru before moving in. At this time we explain systems operations, how to maintain your home, and answer any questions.
You are also welcome to visit the jobsite at any time.
Q: What about warranty and service work?
A: We give a one year warranty with a home or addition. At year end, send a list of repairs needed. We strive to have all service complete in a few weeks.
Repairs to plumbing, heating, electric, and miscellaneous items before year end we will do.
Customers are also encouraged to call with ant questions on warranty or service items.
